I dress the kids in layers, but not jackets or hoodies that have to be removed going through security. Looking forward to hearing about your trip home! To have it all together like that really shows that you guys did some planning - I've traveled solo with my nephews and it can be so chaotic in the busy airports. The only thing I know helps us is to have shoes that are easy for the adults and the kids to take on and off. This is easier in summer or warm weather destinations than it is in winter though.
