Penny Souvenir Machine

When we travel what we got back after each trip is always a really great memory, but no matter how good we are trying to be financially we tend to pick up a few things or two as our souvenirs. There is no doubt that this habit tends to be the reason we blew our vacation budget.

Penny Collector Souvenir

During our San Diego trip, I have found a new family best budget friendly souvenir for our kids.

The Penny Pressed souvenir is the best souvenir that won’t break your budget.

Penny collector machine san diego

This little machine will cost you merely 51 cents for each penny pressed. The kids enjoyed turning the wheel to press their penny. Each machine will have different styles for you to pick from.

I really love the styles they have in there as it represents the place we visit. I would really love to take the picture of some of the pennies we have but it’s just too hard to take the picture of that little pennies.

Penny Souvenir Book

This is not anything new. We have done this in the past. But what make a big difference in this trip was we purchased the collector book. It was a great way to store the pennies we had from each location and the kids were so looking forward to finding the machine whenver we visit a new park. Just see how many we have collected for just one trip. Ok.. We let them pick 2 pennies each. Even with that, it will be just less than $5 per kid and they can go back and look through them.

I love making smashed pennies! The little case is a really neat idea. I’ve never seen those before.

We are all about the smashed penny and books. At Disneyland they have smashed penny books you can buy and tons of places to do pennies so I try to do a different one each trip. The only hard thing is to remember to put 51 cents in my pocket!

Gotta love the pressed pennies. It is hard to make sure you don’t lose them though, so the collector books are great.

What a great idea! I haven’t seen the penny press in Europe anywhere, but I don’t know if I missed it in my travels or it’s just not there.

I had no idea there were pressed penny books. Brilliant. We love the pennies, but inevitably they get put in a pocket and lost in the wash or something. I’ll have to look for the book.

I hadn’t seen the albums before, either. I occasionally picked these up during our travels and used them as geocache swag in caches too small for much else.

I can’t count how many pennies we’ve smashed..and yet we always seem to lose them. Need to get an album for preservation!

We love to smush pennies. The girls have special memory boxes that they keep them in. In fact, they play with their coins often.

Good idea and I like the case. We have a few of them around somewhere….. didn’t know there was a collecting case though.
