Today is the first day of school here and my baby is off to school on the bus as a kindergarten.
It’s a bittersweet for me. On one hand, I’m excited to the next stage for him. He will join his big sister on the school bus, eat in a big cafeteria, learn about reading, writing and art. On another hand, it just gives me a pause at how fast time flies.

Miss J will have a sibling in school. I don’t know how this will play out with her. But I know that she will be a great big sister showing her little brother around and helping him out.
We had a fun ice cream party with a few of our friends in our backyard to celebrate their first day. It was hot so ice cream was welcome by everyone. It’s a good thing that everyone ate so quickly because the ice cream was melting almost as quickly. Now I just have to adjust to this early waking hour..

Congratulations Mr. Z! I’m guessing he was ready to join the big kids in going to school. They just can’t wait to grow up, can they. That was so sweet to keep the celebration going when they got home. My big one is starting K later this month. Maybe I’ll steal your idea, sounds like fun!
Wow, is it that time already?! Aww, your little boy is growing up. But at least he will never be too old for ice cream. Yummy!
@Lora: Yes. They can’t wait to be a big kid. I think having ice cream party after the first day was fun. Your kid will love it!
@Dave&Deb: Yup, we started school early. And yes, even adults love ice cream. :)
